Best diabetes fitness plan: aerobics plus weights

CHICAGO – People with diabetes should mix aerobics with weight training to get the best results in lowering blood sugar, a new study suggests. The combination worked best for weight loss too, compared to aerobics or weight training alone.
Blood sugar is fuel to muscles, and more sugar is burned during aerobic activity. Weight training builds more muscle, and both activities change muscle proteins in ways that enhance the process.
"It's clear that doing both aerobic and strength training is superior to either alone," said lead author Dr. Tim Church of Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, La. "It's almost like taking two different drugs."Link

Update of my Diabetic struggles ....I have been walking 2 miles a day but I kinda dropped the ball the last two days but back at it tomorrow. My blood sugar has been excellent, more later

Those pesky Chinese

BEIJING – This weekend's arrival of a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Yellow Sea poses a dilemma for Beijing: Should it protest angrily and aggravate ties with Washington, or quietly accept the presence of a key symbol of American military pre-eminence off Chinese shores? The USS George Washington, accompanied by escort ships, is to take part in military drills with South Korea following North Korea's shelling of a South Korean island Tuesday that was one of the most serious confrontations since the Korean War a half-century ago.
It's a scenario China has sought to prevent. Only four months ago, Chinese officials and military officers shrilly warned Washington against sending a carrier into the Yellow Sea for an earlier set of exercises. Some said it would escalate tensions after the sinking of a South Korean navy ship blamed on North Korea. Others went further, calling the carrier deployment a threat to Chinese security. Link
You know the chinese need to remember their little wargame off our coast. America owes china a lot of money I think they would want to protect their money ie: USA ....Just thinkin out loud

I am soooo confused so my game plan is simple turkey turkey turkey and broccoli and cauliflower with cheese,a regular sweet potato sliced with diet brown sugar , for dessert this year all sugar free, chocolate, lemon, pumpkin, I may try some ham also mainly lowest carb's possible and lots of protein. Then I will walk 2 miles hopefully I can get past the holidays without hurting my diabetes. So whatever you do try to eat healthier.

Perrin teacher arrested, accused of having sex with students

The two teens had approached the Perrin High School math teacher after hearing a rumor that she’d left another school district because she'd been "messing around" with students.
The boys, age 16 and 18, told investigators that they had repeatedly asked Kimme Annette Woolf if she wanted to fool around.
Initially, the teacher sent them on to their next class.
But eventually, according to an arrest warrant affidavit, the teacher agreedRead more: http://www.star-telegram.com/2010/11/23/2654660/perrin-high-school-teacher-accused.html#ixzz169zgFlu0
I wander what these so called college edumacated peeps are thinking. I know its her fault but those boys are to blame also they were old enough to know right or wrong. This has happened in my hometown and I knew the teacher I always thought he was a great person. I feel sorry for him one big mistake and you ruin your life. Maybe they should require all students to be take courses on this subject before they turn them loose.

Subject: FW: New Rules 4 Golf

New Federal Government Golf Rules The President has recently appointed a Golf Czar and major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective in November 2010. This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2000+ pages) is being rewritten as we speak. Here are a few of the changes. Golfers with handicaps: - below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%. - between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees. - above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play. The term "gimme" will be changed to "entitlement" and will be used as follows: - handicaps below 10, no entitlements. - handicaps from 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts. - handicaps above 18, if your ball is on green, no need to putt, just pick it up. These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring. In addition, a player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round. Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par. Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again. The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term 'net score' will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.
This is intended to 'redistribute' the success of winning by making sure that in every competition, the above 18 handicap players will post only 'net score' against every other player's gross score. These new rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf. Golf must be about fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility. This is the "right thing to do."

The uninvited guest: Chinese sub pops up in middle of U.S. Navy exercise, leaving military chiefs red-faced

When the U.S. Navy deploys a battle fleet on exercises, it takes the security of its aircraft carriers very seriously indeed.
At least a dozen warships provide a physical guard while the technical wizardry of the world's only military superpower offers an invisible shield to detect and deter any intruders.
That is the theory. Or, rather, was the theory.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-492804/The-uninvited-guest-Chinese-sub-pops-middle-U-S-Navy-exercise-leaving-military-chiefs-red-faced.html#ixzz15BPzMgdK
American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.
By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-492804/The-uninvited-guest-Chinese-sub-pops-middle-U-S-Navy-exercise-leaving-military-chiefs-red-faced.html#ixzz15BQESASW

Diabetes Research Made Significant Strides in Past Year

FRIDAY, Nov. 12 (HealthDay News) -- Even as the threat of diabetes continues to grow, scientists have made significant discoveries in the past year that might one day lead to ways to stop the blood sugar disease in its tracks.
That's some good news as World Diabetes Day is observed this Sunday. Created in 1991 as a joint project between the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization to bring more attention to the public health threat of diabetes, World Diabetes Day was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2007. Interesting story and good and sad at the same time

The Cost of Diabetes Care

By TARA PARKER-POPE
Today’s Patient Money explores the various costs associated with diabetes as well as suggestions for how patients can save money on their care.
Diabetes patients spend an average of $6,000 annually on costs for treating their disease, according to a recent survey conducted by Consumer Reports Health. That figure includes monitoring supplies, medicines, doctor visits, annual eye exams and other routine costs.
But the total does not include the costs of medical complications that often result from Type 2 diabetes, such as heart disease, strokes, liver and kidney damage, eye damage and a susceptibility to infections and poor healing that can lead to amputations. The C.D.C. estimates that diabetic patients on average pay twice as much as those without the illness for health care.

I have struggled with this for nearly 2 years and I still haven't managed it very well I wish I had a diet to follow of foods that I would like......I have finally got a appointment for next week to see a Diabetic doctor let me tell you my cost has gone up I understand the cost. What I cant stand is the cheaper drugs causes me side effects like rash, leg cramps and stomach cramps

I was listening to a radio show today and they were talking about the mystery trail of smoke in the pacific ocean appox 35 miles from the US coast. They seem to believe it was a missile fired from a submarine the only problem is they think it was a Chinese Submarine letting the world and USA that if we want to play in their back yard they can ours and they did it just a few days before barry oops I mean Obama was gonna meet with other leader. Kind of a wake up call.
I dont know who too believe.
Link
Wayne Madsen Report – November 10, 2010
China flexed its military muscle Monday evening in the skies west of Los Angeles when a Chinese Navy Jin class ballistic missile nuclear submarine, deployed secretly from its underground home base on the south coast of Hainan island, launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from international waters off the southern California coast. WMR’s intelligence sources in Asia, including Japan, say the belief by the military commands in Asia and the intelligence services is that the Chinese decided to demonstrate to the United States its capabilities on the eve of the G-20 Summit in Seoul and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Tokyo, where President Obama is scheduled to attend during his ten-day trip to Asia.
The reported Chinese missile test off Los Angeles came as a double blow to Obama. The day after the missile firing, China’s leading credit rating agency, Dagong Global Credit Rating, downgraded sovereign debt rating of the United States to A-plus from AA. The missile demonstration coupled with the downgrading of the United States financial grade represents a military and financial show of force by Beijing to Washington.

This is from airplanes so do you still believe the govt

How many people believe this is from a airplane? Its a missile and I think it was fired from a submarine. I don't know weather it was one of ours. Maybe a secret weapon and we cant talk about. If in fact radar didn't pick it up than I think we have a big problem. But the good news is whoever it was they suck , they missed California.

Well looks like the stock market did very well yesterday with the biggest gain since 2008. I wander what caused the surge , was it the stopping the Obama express on Nov 2, or that the feds dumped money into the market? I believe its because Obama has left the country to visit India and other places at a cost of $200,000,000.00 per day wow he got the message on Tuesday looks like business as usual for this prez......I bet he took his golf clubs because that's where you can talk business on a course......$200,000,000.00 could help hungry people in America. Just thinking out loud.

Monday, November 1, 2010
